We use Linux for all our systems. However, you will never need to log into or view a Linux server. All Abacus server management can be done through the AbaHost console.
The whole concept of AbaHost is that you don't need to worry about RAM and CPU. You simply purchase ATK users and disk space, and we take care of the CPU and RAM. Our systems monitor RAM and CPU usage and we adjust these resources in real time at no extra cost.
Enter the maximum number of ATK users (excluding ESS) who will work in Abacus at the same time, and not the number of users on your licence. That figure is what lets us set your server's performance.
  • Concurrent connections are what count

    Only the users present in Abacus at the same moment add up, not everyone who logs in over the course of the day.

  • ESS users are not included

    They do not count towards the number of ATK users to plan for.

  • Memory and processor follow automatically

    There is nothing to estimate on that side, we adjust both to the figure you choose.

  • Adjustable at any time

    If your needs grow, the number of ATK users can be adapted during the subscription, with no reinstallation and no downtime.

Arcanite retains the two most recent backups, as well as one backup for each of the past 7 days, one backup per week for the last 7 weeks, and one backup per month for the last 3 months. Additionally, a daily copy is made, with the two most recent copies stored at a remote location.
We work mainly with Abacus partners who already use AbaHost and manage their clients' servers via our platform. You can also find an Abacus partner near you. That said, we consider supporting companies that use Abacus directly, without going through a reseller, on a case-by-case basis: contact us to discuss it.
No technical knowledge is required beyond the basic training provided by Abacus. AbaHost is an intuitive platform that allows you to easily order and manage Abacus servers without technical involvement on your part. We handle the configuration, security, and monitoring of your Abacus servers.

Yes. Your data is encrypted in both situations: while it travels across the network (in transit), for example between your device and the server, and while it simply sits stored on our disks, without being used (at rest). This way, even in the event of unauthorized physical access to a disk, your data stays unreadable. This is a level of protection that not every host offers.

With AbaHost, each instance is set up at the Scope level and is only shared within the same Abacus reseller group. For example:
  • Premium Package

    You receive one dedicated virtual machine (VM) with one Scope for your use only.

  • Standard Package

    Up to 8 Scopes (again, only from the same reseller) may share one virtual machine.

  • AbaHost Console

    You can check your AbaHost console to see which customers share the same virtual machines, if any. This setup also simplifies updates, as all customers on a shared virtual machine are updated at once.

Yes. The dedicated server option reserves the virtual machine for the clients you put on it, without moving to the Premium subscription. It is useful when you do not need the capacity of Premium for a small client, or when you want to bring two Standard servers together on one machine and no more.

    The option is paid per dedicated server, whatever the number of Standard servers you host on it.

  • Simpler updates

    There is only one client to coordinate when scheduling an Abacus update, instead of juggling the calendars of several companies.

No, direct console access is not provided to customers, only to Partners.

Yes, restricted access via a VPN is available as an optional paid feature. In that case we set the VPN server up for you. If you already have your own VPN, see the restriction by IP address option instead.
Yes, with the restriction by IP address option. By default, your server is reachable from any internet connection. With this option, we only allow the addresses you give us and block every other origin.

    Only your company's fixed IP addresses can reach the server.

  • Through your own VPN

    Staff working remotely connect through the company VPN, whose address is the only one allowed. If you do not have a VPN yet, we can also set one up as an option.

  • Geographic restriction

    If you send us the ranges belonging to a country, for example, access can be limited to the connections coming from it.

  • Several addresses or ranges

    You are not limited to a single address. We accept several IP addresses as well as entire ranges, for a flat rate.

Yes, customers may use their own domain, and their own certificate if they wish. Otherwise, we provide a free SSL certificate, managed and renewed automatically by our systems.
No, the 20 GB allocation is exclusively for customer data.

Yes, we conduct active monitoring of all servers.

AbaHost storage covers much more than the space your data occupies: it includes performance, protection and complete backups for every tenant, with copies spread across 3 datacenters in Switzerland. In total, 15 GB of data represent more than 200 GB of actual storage once replication and all the backups are taken into account.

    the latest backup of each tenant stays available locally, downloadable or restorable in a few clicks from the interface.

    7 daily, 4 weekly and 3 monthly copies kept off site, to restore even after a major incident, for a total of 14 copies of your data.

  • Hardly compressible backups:

    because of the data structure specific to the Abacus software, backups compress poorly; each copy keeps most of its volume.
